I bought this book for the facial exercises. There’s a lot of verbiage then a few facial exercises and the rest were body yoga exercises. I have plenty of books on yoga. Don’t need another. I don’t recommend if you are looking for a facial exercise book.

This is a useful and helpful book, utilizing many of the Yoga philosophies of a physical, mental and spiritual nature. Most of the facial exercises will improve the facial tone, complexion and suppleness of one's face if practiced regularly over at least a several month time period. The given facial exercises for a double chin fall short, but if practiced in conjunction with various Yoga postures illustrated, specifically for the neck and throat areas, over a period of time, should aid in tightening of the neck and reducing the fat pads in that area. I have had to discontinue the exercises for a 6 month period because of a serious illness. I have resumed last month and am well into it again. And am seeing improvement, as I did before. I think the main thing going for this book is the Yoga philosophy permeating the entire book. To submit to physically relaxing one's facial muscles during mediation wil no doubt smooth wrinkles, while giving one a more confident, serene outlook on life.. It's a good book. Well worth the price, and well worth reading. I recommend it!

I was just about to order a copy of this for my mom - she saw mine while she was visiting and loved it.One of the reasons I like this approach so much is that it acknowledges that there are many factors that contribute to how you look. And I love yoga. I can't comment on the effectiveness of this specific program yet, but I do notice that practicing yoga regularly improves my overall appearance - I look younger and my skin tone is better.It does have some shortcomings. I wish there were diagrams of some of the locations the author describes as acupressure points or are related to meridians in the massage section. Others have expressed disappointment in the pictures, but I thought they were fine, possibly because I am familiar with some of the yoga poses. I have read there is a DVD available now that will walk you through the exercises, so that might be more helpful for some.I'm writing this review partly because I saw some of the very negative reviews (1 star) and was surprised. A couple of them may be people who honestly didn't like the book, but few or none are "Amazon certified" purchasers. Two of them were written on the same day, right after a competing book was released, and recommend that book. And several are proponents of a long-time competitor's work; I have seen them submit unkind review after unkind review simply to damage the reputations of other books and programs.I truly think you'll like this book if you give it a chance. The program recognizes that you are a lot more than just your facial muscles!

Good book; just haven't seen any improvement in my wrinkles yet and I've been doing the Yoga face exercises for several months now. However, I have seen very good benefits from doing the general yoga poses....so overall I am very happy with this book!!!

This instructional guide was an easy read and very informative. The instructs are very easy to follow. If one invests the time the techniques really work. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I have looked through this book. It looks good, but I haven't done the face exercises because I can't see themproperly the pictures are really small and it's hard to make out exactly what she is doing in the picture even withthe explanation. All the yoga is good, but to be honest you really need to go to a class to learn with a teacher, unlessyou are very experienced already with yoga. It's a nice book but I didn't find it easy to use. It wasn't simple enough.But I like her message to just let go and relax.

I was disappointed in this book- I expected far more focus on facial muscles exercises, but this book spent a lot of time on body poses, nutrition, psychology, the author venting her own stuff etcHowever , her reminder about jaw clenching was helpful👍

This book was purchased for my personal interest and use. I was curious about the topic and its content. I have followed the book for several weeks now and find it refreshing, hopefully helpful, and entertaining.

I think most of all of this has been reprinted again in color since this Essentials version came out- considering the horrible butchering of the line work in this edition due to the excess of added black ink in this edition- you might just want to look for these issues reprinted in color.

These are absolutely great stories, with incredible art by Jack. There are some stories done by Gil Kane and other artists, which are all right, but the stories with Kirby's art - and plots - are fantastic. And these are stories in which Stan Lee avoided getting too melodramatic or chatty in his dialogue. Lee shows great restraint, and Kirby's action scenes are incredible.But there are two versions of this TPB. The one with Cap coming at you, with the yellow background has absolutely HORRIBLE REPRODUCTION values. It is ugly. There is printing detritus all through many issues, the line work is awful in many issues, the quality is just down right dreadful. I regret buying it. There is an alternate version with a different cover, a reproduction of Captain America #100 - it has a black background and features other characters besides Cap. For some reason, the reproduction quality is fine in that one. Look for it, don't get the yellow one.

I love this compilation. I wish it started from Captain America #1, but it only starts out at Tales of Suspense #59 (the first team up of Captain America). Still, it's a GREAT book! Definitely worth collecting!

Great read that brings back memories

The artwork is great , Jack " the King " Kirby at the top of his game, as well as other contributing artists. Unfortunately, the art is the only good aspect of this collection. This is a painful read. The reason is that it makes every mistake a poorly written comic can make throughout most of it's material. There are tons of captions telling you what's clearly been illustrated on the pages, characters saying out loud things one would really only say in thought, or even worse stating out loud actions we can clearly see being performed within the accompanying illustrations. It feels like author Stan Lee didn't really have a clear handle on what to do with character, he's either got Cap whining about how out of place he feels in the modern world or pining for a woman he's barely even spoken to over a number of issues. I think the short story format of the issues involved in this collection really hampered Lee as a writer, the work tends to feel simultaneously crammed with too much information to absorb while also feeling like not being fleshed out enough . This collection is a real drag to read through .

This was a gift for my nephew, age 15. He had requested it and was so excited to get it. He loves It!

Hi to everybody well what can I say I'm bias in this one and all the others that I have reviewed and I'm sorry for that but I always based my reviews from the point of view of a modeller looking for reference and information on the subjects to be modelled this book is good don't get me wrong and I have been using it to the fullest but it lack good photos of the cockpit,rotor mast, engine compartment. and others things that are necessary for a good modeller to build a model that's why I always say not all books have all the information that you are going to need which means that you are going to look at several books on the subject and probably buy them in another word increase your chances to make a good model. I recommend this book for his contents because it has good general information and it will give you ideas to start working on your subject but if you want more you'll have to get another book and cross reference to get. The maximum amount of information available.

Excellent book for anyone interested in learning about this helicopter, especially modellers! Read every page with great interest, and refer to often when modelling.

Great Book- just need one on the MD500 & NOTAR series

I really Recommend.

This book was in my wishlist for a while, and i was really exited to have it. Better than expected.

This is an excellent book - it covers the Hughes OH-6A and derivative 500 series in detail. It's especially good in describing the convoluted history of the controversial LOH contract, and it also goes into detail about the trouble the NETT had fielding the OH-6A in Vietnam. There's a chapter on aeroscout operations in Vietnam, and the OH-6A's post-war usage by the National Guard is also covered. There's a chapter on black ops/covert usage by Air America, the CIA, Seaspray, and the 160th SOAR. The Silver Eagles demo team also get a chapter, as does usage by various law enforcement agencies. The world-wide use of the 500 family is described, covering civilian, military, and paramilitary use. There are around 250 photos in the book, and there are 15 pages of photos of patches, making for around 300 photos total.As a contributor to this book I'm somewhat biased, but I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the OH-6A and Hughes 500 family of helicopters, and U.S. Army aviation/air cav operations in Vietnam.

Excellent collection of pictures and information related to the development of the Loach. Most complete book I've read so far. Everyone with an OH-6 should have one of these for reference.

Very good book from the operational point of view, however I wish it had more information on research programs and certification efforts. This is a somewhat selfish view from myself as I was involved in numerous research, development and certification efforts on this aircraft.

A wonderful look behind the scenes at a selection of Twin Cities restaurants. The recipes are written for home cooks, although a few would take a pretty high degree of commitment. Outstanding photography also... Stephanie Meyer is multi-talented. The only down point--and it is not the author's fault at all--is that the Twin Cities restaurant scene is so volatile that several of the restaurants featured have already closed or the headline chef has moved on. But it's a great snapshot of the moment in time when the book was written, and will remain relevant as a darn good cookbook, regardless.

I'm not sure what to do first? Curl up with a glass of wine and savor all the photos and stories in this book, run out and try all of the places featured in the book, or hit the grocery store so that I can start diving into all of the delicious recipes in the book? The author did a great job of capturing the flavor of the area and the photos will make your mouth water. This book makes me happy that I live in the Twin Cities and am fortunate to be able to have all of these amazing food choices at my fingertips.

After receiving my copy of Twin Cities Chef's Table, I knew that I immediately wanted to mark the pages of the restaurants that I needed to visit. Needless to say, every page is marked! I love how Stephanie captured the personality and passion of these talented local chefs and love that she compiled an amazing resource of fantastic food. Move over hotdish, Stephanie and the creative chefs in this book are going to challenge us to add some sophistication and raw flavor to our traditional classics!

Stephanie's ability to showcase local chefs and recreate their recipes for the home cook is amazing. It is so exciting to take a peek inside some of these kitchens and restaurants that truly showcase the greatness of the Twin Cities restaurant scene. The photography is simply stunning! It's hard to decide which recipe to make first, and there's something for every type of palette, from hearty meat dishes, glorious salads, beautiful desserts and small plates.

This collection is a celebration of traditional dishes from Cyprus where Selin Kiazim's culinary DNA is firmly rooted. Cypriot cuisine is a wonderful Mediterranean island melange of Greek, Turkish, and Middle Eastern flavors and ingredients. The food is fresh, simple, and delicious, not overwrought. The gorgeous accompanying photographs stimulate both the appetite and the imagination.I have a great many Middle Eastern cookbooks, but this one is not a repetition of any of them. There is a chapter of recipes using fish and seafood, but being in landlocked Tennessee doesn't keep me from experimenting and substituting the protein and adapting the sauce, or preparation method to my needs. Lamb can be easily substituted with beef. I am a big fan of sumac, that wonderfully deep red and lemony-tasting spice. If you live in a small town as I do, everything is easily available online. Penzey's is one of my favorite suppliers, but there are many good ones.The recipes are arranged in the following chapters:--Salads & Snacks (14 recipes, including a brunch menu with recipes) Fresh, herbal, and colorful salads and meze components.--Savory Bakes (11 recipes, including breads and savory pastries)--Meat (25 recipes, including fowl, lamb, beef, veal, rabbit. Also hummus, pilaf, and 2 special salad accompaniments) I'll be making these with beef, pork, chicken, and turkey, which is what I have ready to hand.--Seafood (8 recipes) These are of course salt-water fish, but I'll be using some catfish and tilapia to try these, which are readily available to me, or go for frozen. I have not yet cooked from any of the recipes, but I have so many collections from this part of the world and am so fondly familiar with the broad strokes of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cooking that I'm very comfortable recommending this book. It is beautifully done with an introduction to every recipe, which I love. I'm reading straight through, like a novel, while making mental notes about what I will try first: Cicassian Chicken, Black Olive and Pepper Tapenade, or will it be a beautiful round of Spinach & Feta Borek (lovely filo pie)? So hard to choose when everything looks and sounds so good.

Brilliant book, brings the restaurant to life.

This is a beautiful book of Turkish-Cypriot recipes. The fusion of Greek and Middle Eastern flavors makes for some wonderful flavor profiles and the recipes range from decadently delicious, like a smoked bacon and medjool date sandwich, to fresh and light, like the tomato-pomegranate salad with parsley. The dessert section is a standout in particular, and there are even a couple of mixed drink recipes for entertaining (the medjool date, espresso, and fennel martini is a must try). A unique cookbook offering, and the photography is a treat.

I began reading the book expecting some exciting twists and turns before arriving at a blockbuster ending. The twists and turns were there, though some really defied credibility.The main characters held my interest, though the villains (Valendrea and Ambrosi) were too unredeemably evil and unsubtle to be believable. As the tension mounted, what I looked forward to was learning what revelations had been hidden for so many years. And then... I found out. What a colossal disappointment! If I were a Roman Catholic, I might have been insulted by the heretical nature of the contents. As a mainstream Protestant, I was insulted by the sheer stupidity -- and the author's laziness in not coming up with something better. Such a let down! I finished the book, hoping that there still might be something worth reading. Sorry I wasted my time. Two points for okay storytelling. Three points lacking for the unbelievable popes, ridiculous plot points, and a message that Mary never would have wasted her time on.

This book is about the last Marian apparitions and the governance of the Roman Church.The catholic clergy has never taken a clear stand as far as supernatural appearances by the Virgin Marye are concerned. This uncertainty gives room to create a marvellous novel based on some historical facts enriched with the creativity, precision and skilfulness of Steve Barry.Barry is very good at creating a storyline in which the good ones (the German Pope, his Irish secretary and a African cardinal) want to help the Church restoring the truth and the bad ones (the secretary of state and other Italian cardinals) want to help the church restoring the original faith . In this struggle, knowing the secret behind Fatima is crucial and who will succeed will be in the position to forge the future of the Church.What I did like the most in this book? First, I could not put it done. The book comprises of a series of events that are quite unpredictable. This author does not annoy the reader with lengthy and tedious descriptions of places and feelings: the focus is always on the unfolding of the eventsSecond, it was able to stimulate my interest in history and specifically in the history of Church.Barry is a declared history-lover and and his passion is able to affect the reader.The thrilling plot and the historical base are probably two features of all Barry’s books, but I regard this even better than the one I read before, “The Romanov Prophecy”, which was already 5 starsAt end of the book Berry states accurately which facts are historically true and which are his own creations. This is methodologically very correct and shows great respect towards the importance of History.

Love the factual history that Steve Berry puts in all his books. Although the plot conclusion makes an impressive reasonable resolution for a fiction story, it surprised me that it would go that direction. This author is a master of weaving a fiction story into the accurate and DETAILED facts of history. I find myself stopping and going to google to learn more about the fascinating places, items and events he is describing. Although in a couple of his books, I distinctly disagree with the fictional way he concluded his subject matter, I accept that that is his writers privilege. Even at that the pieces of his story fit so smoothly and agreeably that it makes an excellent read. Also what an exciting way to learn about so much.

This was one of Berry's first novels. It is an extremely well researched suspense novel similar (but better) than his more recent books. Religious dogma is questioned and related to several philosophical and moral issues. Character development is outstanding as is the introspection involving personal relationships. We won't give away the plot except to say that rarely have we encountered a novel that we couldn't put aside. We burned the midnight oil on this one!

I enjoy a good conspiracy theory suspense and Steve Berry does a really good job of these fictional stories but following accurately true events in history. I'm glad he adds separating fact from fiction at the end.

Of all of the Steve Berry novels, this one happens to be the slowest one he's written. It's also, in my opinion, the worst book he's written.While Berry is always detail orientated, here he just gets bogged down in details. Further, he never really seems to get to the point. The "climax" of the book is really more of a stifled yawn.I have a firm policy about reading a book all the way through... however this time, I almost didn't make it. Too few details, too many threats, too many political "intrigues" without the excitement to back them up & not enough of Berry's famous nail biting, adventure with death right on the hero & heroines tale.Avoid this one... it's just not that good.

Mr Berry claims to be Catholic educated but it is not evident. It is Castel Gondolfo not Castle. The characters would have been at home in the Godfather novels.

I think I’ll stick to the Cotton Malone books. This was interesting, but terribly entertaining. I would recommended passing on this unless you’re really into the ins and outs of the Catholic Church.

I knew I was going to enjoy this book, but I wasn't ready for the way it swept me up and held me captive. This book is a masterclass in setting and worldbuilding. I cannot get enough of New Reynes and the dangers and delights that lurk there. From St. Morse casino to Scrap Market and the Street of the Holy Tombs -- I haven't felt this enchanted by a fictional place since the first time I visited the Wizarding World.But aside from the setting and the worldbuilding (the Shadow Game! Volts as currency! street gangs!) what made this book absolutely unputdownable was the characters. Enne is one of my favorite YA protagonists EVER, and Levi -- LEVI!!! I love him so much but I also want to smack him some of the time. This is a book where the villains are truly villainous, but the heroes aren't exactly faultless...it is the City of Sin, after all.

Alright, chums, strap in because I’m about to get a little bit ranty in here. I generally like to start my reviews off with a little intro – something about my personal connection to the book, or something humorous if I’m really feeling myself that day. Today, for the first time in my blog’s history, I will rant.There are a lot of people saying that Levi, one of the MCs from this book is trying too hard to be Kaz from SOC. Now, I consider myself a SOC super fan. As I type, I can see the NMNF tattoo on my forearm, and my cat Kaz is grooming himself on my bed. So when I say that Levi is not like Kaz, I know what I’m talking about here. Lets break this comparison down:Kaz Brekker:-Is the leader of a gang-Has a band of extremely loyal followers, the Dregs-Likes women (exclusively to our knowledge)-Doesn’t like to be touched-Is relatively quiet, contemplative. Doesn’t speak unless he has something to say-Has no magical ability-Always wears glovesLevi Glaisyer:-Is the leader of a gang-Has a band of sort of loyal, but not really that loyal followers, the Irons-Is bisexual-Very much likes to be touched-Is sarcastic and kind of brash, says what he wants when he wants, and is usually trying to annoy someone or bait them-Has magical abilities-Does not always wear glovesNow that I’ve said what I needed to say on this matter, let’s discuss the book Ace of Shades. First off, the world building was fantastic. It was so creative and well done – kind of a dystopian version of Vegas, but with magic and Lords. I absolutely loved it. Foody even went so far as to create signature cocktails. There was a certain drink you ordered if you needed good luck at the tables, a different drink if you were on a winning streak, etc. Additionally, the way that she built the magic in it was pretty fun. Your magic was passed down from your parents. Your first name was your own, but the other two names indicated your magical abilities. It was a really clever way to set things up and I can’t wait to see where Foody takes it in the next book.The main character, Enne, is someone that quite a few people found annoying at the start of the book. I’m not sure why, but I understood why she was the way she was. Imagine taking the most prissy girl you know, and sticking her in the middle of a debauched gambling city. She’d probably act exactly the way you’d expect her to. Unlike the most prissy girl I know, however, Enne quickly toughened up, doing what she needed to in order to reach her goal.Levi was charming and fun while also managing to be a deeper character than I expected. I thought he would be kind of a player, the character to offer comedic relief. While he did offer that a number of times, his motivations were deeper and he turned out to be a well developed character in my opinion.The only thing that irked me in Ace of Shades was the romance. Levi and Enne just kept coming up with the dumbest reasons not to kiss. Their inner monologues went something like this “If he leaned his forehead against mine, I knew I’d kiss him.”…ummmm just kiss the dude! If I were in a life threatening situation, and the person I cared about was standing in front of me? I would be on that boy like white on rice. It was just frustrating and something I hope is remedied in book two.My Takeaway: Ace of Shades was fantastic – the world building was fun and entrancing, the main characters were well developed, and though their romance was flawed, I can wait to see what they do next. This book has to be one of my biggest surprises of 2018 so far - it touched me deeply from the first sentences and kept me hooked until the end (and beyond, I am already stalking the 2019 sequel King of Fools).Welcome to New Reynes, the City of Sin where gangs rule the streets and Casino Families rule everything else. Enne Salta's adoptive mother has failed to return home from a trip to New Reynes, but managed to send a letter home with a name -- Levi Glaisyer -- so she heads to the City for her summer break to find Lourdes. This city isn't for the faint of heart, and Enne has to learn to navigate a place of games and secrets -- but will she be able to survive?This book has a strong start that sucked me in right away and kept me entranced until the last page with excellent pacing and characters with such depth that I felt like I knew them personally. Foody masterfully shares details of the world slowly and succinctly so that it never feels like an info dump and the world itself is described so well that I feel like I could walk the streets myself.The book is told in the alternating perspectives of Enne Salta and Levi Glaisyer, characters that are as different as night and day but thrust together due because Lourdes wrote his name on a letter.--> Enne has been thrust into a world and situation that she wasn't meant for in the search to find her mother. 17 years old, dancer from finishing school looking forward to her debut in society. She has a serious sweet tooth and I love her grit and determination to find her mother as a stranger in a strange land.--> Levi has been hardened by his years, a master of cards and the head of the Irons. He is almost 18 and has aspirations to make something of himself. Levi is black and bisexual and I adore his compassion.There is also a cast of secondary characters just as rich, loveable, and flawed. Jac is Levi's best friend and absolutely a gem, and Lola is the reluctant addition to the trio. I really look forward to seeing more of their backstory in King of Fools.The magic system in this world is hereditary, and each person has a main talent and a split talent. The main talent is denoted by a person's surname and is an easy way to assess a person's position in society.Foody created a new fantasy world with a rich and deep history/mythology, and I will admit that at times it was a bit difficult to keep everything straight even though the worldbuilding is done slowly and builds upon nuggets of knowledge introduced earlier.I absolutely loved Ace of Shades - it is full of a characteristic that I lived for in fantasy: a vivid world, a complex political history, complex characters. It is a fast-paced story that has everything I love in fantasy executed well... just be sure to take notes so that you can keep everything straight as the worldbuilding is vast! This is a fantastic start to what I am sure will be an amazing trilogy, and I cannot wait to continue the series!
