This is a very good primer for anyone considering purchasing a Triumph Bonneville. Although written in England, the book is helpful to US and European Triumph fans alike. The author does a good job of distinguishing between the various eras of Bonneville, giving insight into the benefits and drawbacks of each type. The relatively small footprint of the book makes it easy to carry with you as you visit buyers for motorcycle evaluation. The content is organized well and the format is pleasing to the eye. What I'd like to have seen in the book is more detailed photos of the bikes, a checklist that could be replicated for use in field evaluations of the bikes and side-by-side photos of the different years of Bonnevilles. Again, very worth buying if you are in the market and an excellent effort, but could be better as well.

Very good short read on Triumph motorcycles and what to look for. The author was very straight forward on what to expect when owning one of these older bikes and the issues an owner will encounter. I was looking for a nice bike to ride on the weekends or as an option to commute to work, but after reading, I'm thinking this isn't the bike for me. This $9 probably saved me a lot of frustration. If I wanted to work on or tinker with it and then have the satisfaction I fixed it myself, then I think that's more what the author was trying to say, at least that's my interpretation. For most, this book is probably about finding that perfect historic Triumph and it does a good job at doing that, but for me, it made me realize that I need a bike that I can just get on and go and not have turn a wrench first. It has me looking at more maintenance free options now.

We saw this book reviewed in Classic Bike magazine, and were very happy to find it for sale on Amazon.It's smaller than I expected (5.5" x 8", 64 pages long), but there's lots of good information packed in a small space.The information contained is a wonderful compendium of information you'll need when purchasing (or restoring) a Bonnie. From proper paint to what's actually a 'good' deal, this book covers thing's you want to know whether you're purchasing your first vintage Triumph, or your fifth.

I'm looking to by a Bonneville and this was a good start in what I needed to know to include a built in check list when you go look at a bike. Considering these bikes cost as much as they do, the minimal cost of this book could possibly keep me from making a mistake costing real $$$.

Photos and narrative are super modern evaluation tools.Should be required reading for anyone riding triumph motorcycles although it is not a lot of narrative for the price. Some things covered are common sense.

If you want to buy a vintage Bonneville, this book not only tells you what to look for, but lists the pros and cons (there are many for each year) of the various series of bikes. Good read.

I think this is way overpriced for what it is. There are a few good points; but for what it costs I expected more than a 6" x 8" booklet with 64 pages!!!The only reason I still have it is it was not worth the hassle to return it!!! But it did have some nice pictures of Earlier Bikes.........It is obviously from England with English spelling and nomenclature; which for a Limey Bike I guess is a Good Thing!!! A good lesson in culture.......

Met expectations, useful information, clean copy and quickly sent. Will be an asset in the motorcycle library. A real go-to book when needed.

We are using it as the main book in our bible study group along with others like, In the Presence of Our Lord, by Fr. Groeschel, The Eucharist, a Study Guide by Fr. Mitch Pacwa and of course the Catholic Bible and Catechism. It is loaded with details that help in understanding the history of the early Catholic Church and a deeper appreciation of our faith. It has hundreds of other references that can be used to broaden the study. If you are interested in the development of the Catholic Church from Christ to today, this is a must read.

La historia de Escobar se pinta según quien la cuente.Vallejo, otra de las tantas amantes, nos cuenta una historia de amor, más bien de sus decenas de amores (casi todos casados), y que entre ellos se encontraba Escobar. La autora tiene un ego enorme; habla y habla de sus viajes, su piel perfecta, sus piernas, su ropa de diseñador, de gastarse $20k en compras con el dinero que Escobar le daba, etc. ¿Acaso no le pasó por la mente la sangre derramada para obtener esa plata? ¿Cómo es posible que indique, en varias ocasiones, que no veía noticias ni prensa, siendo ELLA una periodista? Se entera de las cosas que pasan en su país cuando regresa de sus viajes o cuando alguien la llama para contarle. Todos los ricos de Colombia, Alemania, Francia, y Londres de esa época eran parientes, sus “amigos de toda la vida”, o sus pretendientes.Para alguien cuya vida corría peligro a diario, tal y como relata acerca de las llamadas telefónicas, las amenazas, y los problemas financieros, tiene una memoria increíble.La historia de cuando se va a la isla y nadaba en 3 horas de un extremo al otro, me parece exageradísima, y le resta credibilidad al libro.Los secretos y las confidencias parecen, en su gran mayoría, suplidas por Garganta Profunda, y ella se las acredita como pertenecientes a conversaciones con ‘su Almanegra’. El resto del libro es acerca de la vida ‘chic’ que tuvo hasta que la embarró metiéndose con el capo.

Amando A Pablo Odiando a Escobar ,Es un excelente relato histórico, donde la autora desnuda su alma y cuenta sus experiencias con el mayor narco que ha tenido Colombia. Lo que es fascinante es su valentía, como con lujo de detalles describe su relación con Pablo. Se necesita tener mucho valor para admitir y contar esos históricos momentos que desangraron a la bella Colombia! Una excelente narrativa, cuando empiezas a leer el libro no puedes dejarlo, me tomo dos noches terminarlo, me intrigaba toda la corrupción que rodeaba al gobierno Colombiano, con narcos paras y guerrilleros; sospecho que las cosas no han cambiado mucho.Por ultimo, por favor no compren el libro pirata que ha salido al Mercado y Amazon lo esta vendiendo también, no se por que razón?El libro pirata es de tapa roja, la portada es una baratija, nada que ver con el original que esta hecho con el buen gusto y elegancia que destaca a la autora. Gracias Virginia Vallejo por tu testimonio!

I bought this book for my own entertainment and information. I'm a Colombian who has been away from my country for over 50 years.So, I don't keep up-to-date with the things that happen over there. I like the book in general. It was well written even though the themeof the book is so brutal and sad. Hope Virginia Vallejo is having a more peaceful and happy life away from all that tragic relationshipshe had with Escobar. The past is dead and should remain that way. Just look to the future with more experience eyes and heart.Yolitatx

I felt as if my wife brought me into Virginia's world of love and hate!overall! a great Read!!

The last time that I sat in a college chemistry class was 45 years ago, so needless to say, skills were a tad rusty. This book presents the material in an organized and concise manner and was easy to reabsorb. If you've never taken chemistry, I would recommend a college chem text to assist in clarifying some concepts, but if you just need to refresh some rusty skills, this book does the job just fine.

Holy Moly this book is incredible. I passed my College Chemistry placement test and tested out of the class I wanted to skip because of this book. If you just sit down and do the worksheets, you'll be golden. I also bought Chemistry for Dummies which didn't really help me understand anything. But this book paired with some basic chemistry You Tube videos and I totally taught myself chemistry. It was mind blowing. DO IT. You will be glad you did.

I never took chemistry. So I'm learning at 70 plus. I'm only thru the chapter one. if the rest of the chapters are as clear I should be able to learn and interesting subject.

Very well written book.It takes a bit of time to adopt the style of the author, then you will get a perfect self study guide.I will put its text quality above average university text book. All material is perfectly linked - if you see a question, you will be able to find explained answer in the text.Helped me a lot for the "General Chemistry" course in the university.

I love this book. I wish there was one like it for every subject. The lessons are clear to the point and incredibly repetitive. The books gives you a rule then immediately asks a question. If you are looking for a book that will make the difficult subject of Chemistry manageable this is the book to get.

Excellent for self-instruction. Starts at a very elementary level. it's based on the programmed learnning method, with a lot of repetition of exercises. If you like that approach, you'll like this book.

I really like how, they broke every topic into multiple frames, then provide a quick quiz right after you read literally read one sentence; and the answer is right underneath. I'm shocked that I'm actually learning. These this-subject-for-dummies books usually don't end up working out for me. I usually get uninterested midway in the first chapter from not learning anything. But the shortness of each topic they want you to learn with the quiz right after definitely hammers the knowledge in your head. No need to guess if you're actually learning the right stuff or guessing about what stuff you need to remember. I'm definitely gonna check out they're book for Calculus.

It is equivalent to a beginning high school chemistry class - emphasis on "beginning". Even so. this is a wonderful review of the foundations that higher forms of chemistry are based on. One needs to understand the basics before building a foundation.Learing chemistry is easy with the format used in this book. The book poses questions about each subject and then gives the answers and explains why the answer is what it is. The explanations are quite simple and easy to understand. I knew some chemistry going into this book, and the book refreshed my memory and reconnected the neurons in my brain to once again have a basic handle on chemistry.I recommend this book to anyone who needs a high school equivalency in chemistry. Excellent book, excellent study guide, excellent framework for learning, and quite interesting.konedog

I love James Patterson and have read everyone of his books. I, Michael Bennett was such a disappoinment. You get to the last page and think "What the hell just happened, did my Kindle drop some pages." You don't know how the books ends. How long do we have to wait for a sequel. Not fair to the Patterson readers!!

I'm late to the party for this series of books from James Patterson, but that doesn't mean I was disappointed in not having know about them. I just need to keep my eyes open better for future books in the series.NYPD Red is a specialized unit of Detectives in the New York Police Department who are tasked with solving crimes that involve or revolve around the wealthy, politically connected, or just plain old celebrities. In other words these Detectives and their Captain need to know how to handle the elite and their harsh personalities.In this first book of the series the city of New York is trying it's best to lure the Movie and Television Industry to come to New York and make more flicks there instead of in Hollywood. Unfortunately a disgruntled and disturbed individual wants to sabotage the week of events scheduled. So, this person sets about to start murdering people who are wealthy, connected and part of the Hollywood scene.At first it seems like just one murder, but as the bodies pile up the NYPD Red team his overdrive to try and solve the crimes.There are a bunch of little sub-plots that run through the novel involving the two main detectives, Detective Jordan and Detective McDonald. It seems they have a past dating relationship and that causes some issues. BUT, they are the top two Detectives in New York and they have a very unorthodox way of solving crimes, they break the rules!Having worked with police officers as a police chaplain I found the descriptions of the characters very accurate and reasonable even though people might think Patterson has exaggerated them a bit.Will Jordan and McDonald be able to stop this crusader / murderer before he or she can kill hundreds? That's the question and the heart stopping action will keep you reading.Enjoy!

It begins with the murder of a glamour girl, and theft of her fortune in jewelry, in front of a crowd of New York theater-goers. The culprit disappears, leaving a city amazed at the crime. This is obviously a case for New York's elite Red detective unit, and Detectives Zack Gordon and Kylie McDonald get the assignment. Their investigation reveals that this is not a simple murder and robbery. The culprit is after far more, and the danger increases as our detectives get closer. The suspense, action, and interplay between the detectives make for a page-turner that is most satisfying.

Detective Bennett becomes involved in investigating a Mexican drug cartel leader, that has world class training, both in business and has developed an attitude of unconcern, as he believes himself greater than the common folk.During the investigation Detective Bennett manages to chase the suspect and apprehend him, and in so doing,witnesses the suspect killing someone to enhance his chances in order to get away.The suspect's organization kills the presiding judge of the trial and the manages a daring escape all on the orders of the suspect, as he corrupts anyone around him.An excellently written book from a well known writer.
