Note: this book is intended for children or to be read to children by an adult. Covers a lot of aspects of the actual physical parts of a typical Orthodox Church (more Greek than Russian, seems to me) and worship. The text is sometimes too heavy with theological words and phrases, and the drawings are sometimes rather odd in their depiction. But I think this book would help a parent teach a child about the church.
I have enjoyed reading through this book to help introduce the Orthodox church to my young children. Its a great way for them to learn what each item (candles, icons, altar servers, incense, etc.) is for or does in the church. However, the pictures are pretty bad. I would rather have had actual photographs of most of these pictures, because some are so bad (and because our church is in a borrowed space) I can't tell where it actually is in the church
Amazing book - shipped on time and would recommend to anyone interested in the Orthodox faith with kids. Book says grades 3-6 but I think any age will appreciate it!
